A Whimsical Makeover: The Plain Jane Buffet

Meet Jane...as in, Plain Jane. She was one of our purchases from the man in Rockford. She doesn't have much detail or defining characteristics but she is solid and works well. This was a piece that I was going to do quickly for the Na-Da event so that I could have several large pieces there. I was not prepared to fall in love.
Well, after a bit of work, Plain Jane became Wow Jane! Just have a look...

I used ASCP Versailles and Old White. I am in love with the color combination. I used a slight textured finish on the top and in the white area to give it a bit more depth and character. It didn't sell at the event so I had to bring her home for a while. This buffet just happened to fit perfectly in our dining room! Amazing how that happens isn't it. It won't be staying here long though. It will be joining us at the Kane County Flea Market in November.

Hope you like it! Next week...a book case!
