A Whimsical Makeover: The Built-Ins Edition

Welcome back to another new home project makeover. Like our Foyer Makeover, this is a Whimsical Makeover by Husband. Let me take you back in time...2 months ago when we moved in. We loved the amount of built-ins but did not love the look of them.

My Husband removed all of the doors and began playing with the shelves. They all had this really yucky tracking system so he removed that too.
Then he and his friend spent time priming them and installing bead board as new decorative backing. He was in the driveway cutting bead board for 2 days straight. After much cutting, priming and painting...they were finally done. Now it's time for me to do my thing. DECORATE!!!! Here is the end result:
I can't believe how much it has brightened our home. We have also painted the walls but that is for another post. Meanwhile, here are some photos of some of my favorite items from the picture.

Love the color! Love the ornate frame!
Love the dried flowers! Love the rustic box! Love the original pastel drawing by local artist!

I am obsessed with these tea cups. My favorite flea market find, EVER!

Rustic tool box, Girly Mirror...What more could you want?
Thanks for visiting. Check out our other home makeover projects.

  1. What a great makeover! Hubby and friend did a great job on it, and your accessories are so beautifully arranged. I love the mix of rustic and pretty, and the pops of colour too. The tea cups are very pretty indeed.
