A Whimsical Makeover - The Detailed Dresser

Please forgive the poor "before" picture. It was taken at the very last second. Paint brush in one hand and camera in the other. I purchased this dresser a few months back and wasn't sure what I wanted to do. I had painters block. So this piece has been in storage since September. Silly me.

I have been working a lot with Old Ochre lately and decided that Old Ochre would be a pretty color on this dresser. However, I needed to make it stand out a bit so I went down to my paint shelf to see what my options were. I looked and looked hoping to get inspired and finally came across Louis Blue. Perfect!

I wanted to do something worn but not necessarily antiqued. I opted for the layered color look, farmhouse inspired. Here is how it turned out:
I love how it looks beautiful but still a bit rough and unfinished. I sealed it with clear wax for a protective finish.
I stayed with the original hardware because they just don't make them like they used to.
Thanks for stopping by. :)
