A Whimsical Makeover - White Cabinet Edition

Many moons ago I purchased this white cabinet from a friend who wanted to sell off some of her inventory. I was immediately drawn to the antique mirror. It is beautiful and aged in all of the right places. However, chippy white is not really my thing. I knew I had to change the color so I went with one of my old favorites...Provence.
Before
Before

I must warn you, before we go any further, that my dogs make an appearance in this blog. I promise that they are friendly and up-to-date on their shots.

This was a pretty straight forward paint job. I coated the whole thing with 2 coats of Provence. Then I attacked it with my 220 sand paper. I wanted some of the original paint to come through. Then the question was...clear or dark wax? I went with clear.
After
I love the distressing.

Bruce love it so much, he chose to spend the day laying in front of it.
This will be going to Carter's Cottage tomorrow. I sold a large piece yesterday and now I have a gap. I am not complaining though. ;)

Now that the kitchen is done, I am ready to tackle some tricky projects that I have been putting off.
Here is a glimpse of next week's makeover.

I can't really end a post with THAT kind of picture. So here is something a little happier. :)
Think Spring!
