I chose to paint this dresser in ASCP Old Violet. It is a dark moody blue/purple. It is one of my favorites to work with.
I kept the hardware and spray painted it black. I am very pleased with how it turned out.
This dresser had some neat lines that were lost before in the medium colored wood. I love the scallop at the top.
I took this one to the Kane County Flea Market.
Christie beautiful staged our space and this piece sold quickly. I enjoy it when people love and purchase my items but I love it even more when I know they are going to a good home. This family was going to place this in their new baby's room. They also bought my painted oars to match their motif.
As a bonus, they sent me a picture on my Facebook page.
This is so sweet. It is perfect for a little boy's room.:)

How sweet of them to send you a photo of the dresser in their wee one's room! Looks great.
ReplyDeleteLove that you did this piece in Old Violet. You're right, I didn't even see the scallop details in the before picture. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! How kind of them to send you a photo. Love the painted oars also.
ReplyDeleteWell done my friend...

I love that you are brave enough to step out with color! I am such a chicken with color! I loved seeing this post and am so thankful that you shared it at Meet Me Monday. It actually inspired me to move to a green that I have been wanting to play with but have been chicken to try. Thank you for sharing! I love that they sent you a picture showing you where it "lives" now. Love, Me www.youaretalkingtoomuch.com

I have a similar dresser, same color! I love it except that the drawers stick a bit.
