A Whimsical Makeover: The Vintage School Desk Edition

Call me a school nerd but I just can't pass up a sweet little school desk. I picked up this super cute desk a week or so back from a new found furniture friend. I also purchased a few truck loads of other fun items. Those will come later. This is what I wanted to get my painting hands on now.

In the fall I painted a beautiful antique school desk Louis Blue with lovely stenciled ABC's. I wanted to make this the "sister" piece for that.

I used Annie Sloan's Primer Red with an Old Ochre handwriting line and Louis Blue numbers.
My husband sealed it with a "poly" to help make it a front porch possibility. I am so pleased with it.

It is currently for sale. Please contact me if you are interested.

Update: It seems that many people are not familiar with my Blue School Desk. I painted it is September before I was linking and had a good amount of followers. Here are some photo's I recently snapped (it is SO hard to photograph this desk):

  1. Wow! This is so nice I really like the stripe on the chair, maybe the next time I see an antique desk I'll give it a second look.

  13. This turned out so cute! I love the color!! I have an old antique school desk that has an attached chair. It would be fun to do something like this, but I also like it as it's own old self. Hard decision.
