I couldn't be happier with the results. However, as we started to unpack our boxes or acquire new items, our kitchen became cluttered. It started to become confusing.
Well...it rained today. This is my attempt at helping my kitchen make a bit more sense.
Here is the uncomfortable before:
It is not terrible but it looks like I just plopped things down. So, I took everything away and began to rearrange.
Keep an eye out for this strange looking box. It is essential to today's re-do
Here is the after:
![]() |
| One of my favorite gifts from my Grandma Betty. She gave me this set of vintage ceramics that she made when she was younger. She also gave me the Py-O-My tray. Love! |

| Did you notice it? Here is that weird box repainted in ASCP Cream. Holds my vintage Domino Canisters (also a give from Gma Betty). |
Thanks for checking out my Rainy Day Re-do. Next up is the pantry. :)

I love to organize...the wooden box/shelf really made a big difference!
ReplyDeleteLove your grandma's ceramics she made, how pretty and what a fabulous treasure. The box look amazing too. Great job. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteVery clever, Laura! Now you've got me wanting to find a box like that! I love your kitchen!
ReplyDeleteWonderful kitchen and so creative to redo the box like that!
ReplyDeleteLove your grandmother's collections!
Looks great! Wondering how the cabinets are holding up? I am trying to find time to paint mine and was considering using a wipe on poly with the ASCP instead of the varnish. I tried it on some sample pieces in satin and it really doesn't look much different from the wax. Trying to find what will wear the best and be the easiest.
ReplyDeleteI need to do that, what a difference, looks great and that box works great for a shelf!
ReplyDeleteLove the box. It is very classy and I like the new color. I think Grandma Betty was a lady with great taste.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, Ginger :)
