A Whimsical Makeover - A Few Good Stripes

This is a post that should have happened months ago. I painted this sweet little table back in March but just photographed it today.

It has been sitting in my basement.

Waiting patiently.

Well...Today is the day. I will finally let this piece be seen by the public.

It has beautiful lines. It is well made and functional. However, it is not very pretty.
I had this piece in mind for the flood of college students that are rushing to Dekalb this week.
Something fun.
Something stylish.
Something quality yet affordable.

This pieces was painted in ASCP French Linen with an Old Violet stripe. I sealed it with clear wax.
I also painted the hardware to give the illusion of "invisible hardware".

This piece is going to the shop today. :)
FYI...I purchase my Chalk Paint from Carter's Cottage. :)

Don't forget, I am now your online location for Toft Touch Soaps!

  1. love the table...very crisp clean look, and the lines of the sells in a hurry. I like the lines off to the side.Different from the stanard students yeap perfect for night stand...
I just did a little Dresser what ever piece...saved from being tossed...same thought kids coming in for college

  2. Very cute! How did you get the stripes lined up so perfectly?

  3. ooooh, this is so pretty. I love how the stripes are off center and that combination is just so lovely. I'm pinning this one!

  4. i am always a fan of ticking stripes and they look perfect on this piece!

  5. Hi Laura, I love the way you have used theses stripes! So creative!

  6. Oh I so want to do this on a piece. Thanks for the lovely inspiration!
