A Whimsical makeover: Simple, Easy, Rustic

This piece comes with no "before" picture. It is basic and easy. It is not a piece to design a room around but a piece that fits into any space.

I love pieces that are enhanced by paint and not overtaken by it. This is a simple example of that.

This piece is a custom mix of Antibes and French Linen. After distressing and sealing with clear wax, I coated it in a heavy layer of dark wax. For the top, I sanded the wood to reveal a beautiful natural patina. I simply added a coat of poly for protection. Simple, Easy, Rustic.  I am so happy with how this turned out.

Stay tuned for for a color review of Antibes and French Linen. I will be posting them this week.

FYI...I purchase my Chalk Paint from Carter's Cottage. :)

Don't forget, I am now your online location for Toft Touch Soaps!

  8. Love it. I almost did something like this yesterday with a piece I had but I didn't have the right green, so I went in another direction. This style reminds me of tables they often have at Anthropologie. I'm always drawn to them, and you're right, it would work in so many spots.
