A Whimsical Makeover...The Kitchen...Again...

8 months ago, we took this kitchen:

And turned it into this:

We loved everything about it. From the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in French Linen and Old Ochre on the  Cabinets to the new Butcher Block counters, it was perfect for us. Then the honeymoon phase was over. We thought we did the right thing by choosing the perfect green for our kitchen. Boy were we wrong.

So, after thinking long and hard, we decided to repaint the kitchen.  I wanted something clean and neutral. I wanted something that blended in. I wanted something that let the decor speak for itself.

So, without further delay...here is our new color: Benjamin Moore - Indian White:

The color change is subtle in the picture but dramatic in person. I think this might stay for a while. :)

As for the decor...I am still working on it. If you regularly follow my blog, you know that I am a picker. I love junking through old barns, shopping the unique stores in our area and my monthly pilgrimage to the flea market.

I do not shop at big box stores for home decor (with the exception of things that might contain skin cells, like sofas, mattresses and clothes). Because of this, it takes me a bit longer to pull a room together.
Shopping local and shopping vintage are important to me so I don't mind waiting.

Thanks for stopping by. :)

  11. Love your kitchen. The color is awesome. You sound like me. I decorate with secon hand but not upholstered furniture or anything with an "ick" factor.
