I have been working on the house.
I have been spending time with friends and family.
I have been focusing on the face-to-face side of my business.
Now it is time to get back into painting!
I just finished a custom order piece from a friend that I love to paint for. She challenges me with unique pieces and colors I don't often use.
Today's color is not new to me but the style and challenges that came with this piece were new.
When I received this desk, it was very dark. The stain was a reddish brown and I knew that meant trouble.
I was worried about bleed through. Not to worry, I grabbed a can of my favorite shellac and coated the whole thing down.
Still it bled through. So in comes the Zinsser oil based primer. Problem solved!
Normally I avoid using primer at all costs but with the top coat being Old White, I figured I would allow it.
Here is my finished product:
Classic ASCP Old White and Clear Wax
By the way...the penguin's name is Simon.
*Ignore the rough flooring. That is the next phase of our living room makeover*.
Stay tuned for more furniture very soon! :)
