The furniture business is completely unpredictable.

This is a constant topic of conversation with my friends from the shop. We will bring in a piece of furniture that we assume will sell within days....and it sits for months.

The opposite is true too. A piece painted in the most random color with sell within minutes.

There is no predicting what will sell. However, I do have to say that I am surprised that this particular piece of furniture has not found a new home.

It is neutral, classic and very well painted. This might be the piece I am most proud of.
I used textures, washes and glazes. It is in fabulous condition. To me, it is the most visually appealing piece I have done.
However, after 12 months of sitting at 2 different shops, it has finally found its way back to my house. It has taken a perminent spot at the top of the stairs.
It looks beautiful.
However, I was kinda hoping it would look beautiful in someone else's house. ;)

  1. I know what you mean! I sell painted furniture too and what you think will sell doesn't always sell. And what you think will move fast will sit and sit! That is a beautiful piece! At least you can enjoy the beauty of your hard work in your home!Happy Thanksgiving!

  2. It is stunning, both in colours and shape! I'm surprised too it didn't sell.

  3. I would love to have this piece! I think you are too far away from me though. It looks beautiful in its new spot!

  4. Boy I relate....and yes what I spend ton's of time on
