A Whimsical Makeover: A Bit of Antibes

I have no before pictures to go with my next several furniture posts.  I had a day where I was painting like crazy and simply forgot. Sorry about that. :)

I picked up with cute little telephone table at the Sandwich Antique Fair this summer. I was your basic warm wood table. It had a bit of a stain on the top so I knew that it was a candidate for paint.

Then I had to choose the color.

I wanted something bold and beautiful. I planned on using this table as my "check out" table at Christmas in the Alley. So I wanted something that people would see.

Here is a view of my ASCP Antibes table:

I use both clear and dark wax to seal and protect. I have a love/hate relationship with the dark wax. I always hate it when I am using it but completely love the result. Notice how the top of the table looks like it has a wood grain. I hadn't planned on that and was completely stressing about it while in progress. However, when it was finished, I completely loved it!
This table is now for sale on my Etsy page. I will be sad to part with this one. :)

  5. Love how you toned down the Antibies color. Did you by any chance keep track of the mix and percentages? Are you willing to share that? Please?
