A Few Quick Dining Room Updates

I have been a little hesitant to take down all of the Christmas decorations. I am seeing beautiful Spring decor pop up on Pinterest.

Oh Spring...we miss you.

However, it is going to be 9 degrees here on Monday. I feel it is a bit early for Spring.

I secretly want to wrap my house in a cozy sweater and hibernate.

So...I have taken down much of the Christmas decor but left up much of the winter pretties. I took a moment today to pretty up the dining room and change a few little things around.

My first update was to our serving area (or what I assume would be our serving area if we were to ever eat in the dining room).
I really enjoy painting signs of all shapes and sizes. This little "eat" sign is a favorite. It looks so pretty placed on the vintage cutting board and antique marble slab.
This ladder is amazing with it's beautiful hardware. I hung one of my vintage sewing wheels to the hardware. This is also a great place to display some vintage lace.
We have also added curtains so that my very kind neighbors no longer have to see me sing and dance in the evening. I can assure you that it is not a pretty sight.
Speaking of "not a pretty sight"...forgive the floors. They are getting beautified in the next few weeks. I am so excited to see these original floors restored and used beautifully again. The dining room and living room are connected. This will be a big change for both rooms. I hope to be able to show you the full living room update soon. However, it always seems to be undergoing a bit of serious construction.
My husband is currently working his magic on the living room fireplace and built-ins. It will be beautiful.

  1. I love how you style your wall arrangements. I see a blank wall and go into panic mode! Everything looks perfect for winter. 9 degrees, wow! We were in the 20's all week and I thought I was cold!

I can't wait to see your floors and fireplace. Now is the time to do it.

    Stay warm!

  2. Cool vintage wood sign! Looking forward to seeing your reveals!

  3. Your dining room is really coming along. I like the curtains you added. They add softness without covering up those beautiful windows. My daughter is craving a ladder like the one you have. I'm hoping to find one for her at the flea market. Can't wait to see your living room!

  4. Love so many of your decorative elements!

  5. Oh your room is just lovely! A great mix of vintage and pretty colors!

  6. Love, love all your additions! Beautiful!

  7. Ohhh I love your rustic treasures on your walls! Those baskets are the coolest! Lovely room!

  8. Your wire baskets are fantastic! I love the ladder too.
    Everything looks so nice!
