Before I go, I wanted to make sure I shared my most recent makeover with you.
This is another custom piece and this client has done a great job getting me out of my comfort zone. She recently commissioned a "bronze" buffet and I loved experimenting and playing with the different finishes. Her next project was a custom built-in cabinet in her kitchen. This required that I paint in her house. I hadn't done this before so I wasn't sure what to expect.
Well, I ended up having a wonderful time and making a new friend. Here is her makeover story:
The "before" before:
She really felt like this was a dead space in her kitchen. So, she had a local woodworker/carpenter come over and install this:
Then we decided on a custom mix of ASCP. 1 part Olive to 1 part Country Grey. I sealed it with ASCP Clear Wax and accented it with Miss Mustard Seed's Antiquing Wax.
Here is the final product of our collaboration:
I will be returning to her house soon to work on her kitchen island. This will be a project that involves my husband too. It is always fun to combine our business. She was really pleased with it and I am too!
Now that Spring is almost here, I will be slowing down for a while on custom projects. I need to prepare for my upcoming shows and keep Carter's Cottage stocked with beautiful pieces. I will pick up more custom business again in the summer. If you are looking to get something painted, contact me soon. I have been booking up pretty early.
Thanks for visiting!
